I think though that the editing was not very good with three scenes at the railway station, and possibly the director could have done better too. There are many ways to dissolve the first scene, go flash forward and return to a different scene. For example, in the first scene Karthik could have ridden off on a motorcycle, and in the third Shakti could be shown tentatively looking for him until she runs into him. Just a thought. It might interest you to know that last night at a professional basketball game --- Dallas Mavericks at home to Portland Trailbalzers they played a snippet of ARR's song form Slumdog. So, I don't see how a week could have passed. After the parting on the train, Shakti no longer takes the train, and is shown with her sister taking the bus etc., the conversation again has Shakti saying "Vittachhu anna Vittudano". Then, Kartik gets Shakti on the phone courtesy his niece.
