Are any of you watching it now? Why can’t they restrict the show to the parts where these kids sing? Do we have to watch them wake up, brush their teeth, eat their breakfast, visit the saloon and do what not?! Of course, this is not happening in this show alone. Indian Idol, shows in Channel V and lots more show all these.

By the way, why are the contestants, their parents and the show director or whatever you call the people who decide what is to be shown on TV in the show, act as though losing the contest means the end of their career in the field or something? (The sad BGM that comes whenever someone loses is irritating!) All said and done, it is just a competition and you get to know where you stand among others by participating in one. Please understand that before participating in a competition.

is what I am currently listening to again and again and again! Wherever you go, you find something written about the one and only SUPERSTAR/ SIVAJI! (Why should my blog alone be an exception? ) Being the Superstar fan that I am (of course, not as much of a fan as I am of you-know-who-all ), I too can’t wait to watch the movie in theatre soon! The more I watch/read anything about Sivaji, the more excited I am becoming! Maybe in another 10 days, I will watch it if I get the tickets, of course.

Rajni and Rahman are the only reasons I want to watch the movie. I have never liked Shankar’s movies much. I have found only parts of his movies good.

Back to Athiradee, still my favourite song from the movie! Speakers apart, volume as high as possible, song in repeat mode is how I am listening to it! Do that and you won’t feel like pressing the stop button. The guitar interludes and Rahman’s voice have not stopped amazing me yet! Sudhish Kamath calls this the best picturized Rajni song! Can’t wait to watch the song in theatre! What with the excellent sound effects in theatre, this song must be a treat to the ears! (Not sure though how much one can hear on top of the fans’ excited whistling and applause) Athiradee rocks!!!! And needless to say, Rahman & Superstar rock too!

Imagine someone sleeping while travelling by bus at around 4-4:30 in the evening in spite of the terrible Madras summer! That too not just sleeps but is in a deep sleep so much so that the person wakes up all of a sudden to find that it’s just a few seconds for the stop to come! And, imagine this happening everyday!! You might have already guessed by now. I am that person! I don’t really know from where I got the ability to sleep in this bad veyil! Ellaarum enna praise paNNunga Btw, I guess the day when I am going to miss my stop isn’t far away!

Anyone knows who said it? And, what do you all have to say about this quote?

It’s high time some people learnt some things in life:
• When you achieve something great in a field, it should not be you but others who have to say what you have done/ doing is great.
• Even when others acknowledge your work, if you go on talking to others praising yourself, it will make others lose the respect they have for you.
• To put it in a nutshell, tharperumai adichukka koodaadhu!
• Even when quite a few are encouraging you and praising your work and it is only a matter of time before more of them join in encouraging you, if you talk as though others are committing a big mistake by not supporting you, then, it is the biggest mistake that you have made. Even those who wanted to encourage you to accomplish greater milestones will forget that idea!

Last weekend was too good! An excellent concert of Chitraveena Ravikiran on Saturday! (There’s nothing more to add to what Ram has written about the concert) I am not going to miss any concert in which M.A.Sundaresan plays the violin from now on. M.A.Sundaresan and Umayalpuram Sivaraman were the main reasons why I went to the Ravikiran’s concert. The concert had a line-up of my favourites, Reetigowlai, Vasanta (It has become my favourite recently), Surutti (No words to describe those!) and Neelambari!

Yesterday, I got to listen a Dikshitar krithi, ishAnAdishivAkAramanche in Sahana raagam, for the first time, thanks to Sai Prasad. The krithi was lovely! (Sahanavaache kaekkaNumaa )

The only disappointment in the weekend was watching Federer lose the match.
It’s Monday today and the weather here is so pleasant. It rained in Madras! Yay! Just when I started from home, the first song that I listened to in the radio was one of my most favourites, Thee Thee! (Rahman, you are the best! ) Right now, I am listening to a wonderful Kedaragowlai by MDR! What a way to begin a week!
