School & College: You paid
Work: You get paid

School & College: You are a student
Work: You are not only an employee you are sometimes referred to as a resource as well!

School & College: Bench, chair, black board, chalk, duster
Work: It’s only cubicles and computers here and bench takes a new meaning altogether ;)

School & College: Address teachers as Sir/Ma’am or even Miss
Work: Age is not given any consideration whatsoever and you are on a first name basis with everyone.

School: Assignments, Mid-terms, Quarterly, Half-yearly, Annual Exams. Try to study well and come for exams.
College: Cycle Tests/Unit tests, Semester Exams. Come for exam and try to study well in the last few hours before the exam :P
Work: Certifications. Do your work, prepare for the exam in parallel and try to give your best to both.

School: You get a break from classes by celebrating Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Annual Day, Independence Day, etc. by putting up shows/skits/music performances/speeches
College: You get a break from classes either by culturals or by seminars where the presenter is hell-bent on inducing sleep to the students ;)
Work: Cubicle decoration, Ethnic Day, Culturals, etc.

School: At the end of the day, bell rings and you run out the class
College: Once you have decided that you want to leave, you don’t even wait for the bell to ring ;)
Work: Start saying end of day as EOD, look at the time at EOD and remember that it is morning in US and end up spending time for onsite calls

School: Excursions to lots of nice places in and around the city
College: Excursions in the name of Industrial visits to some company (totally unrelated to your branch of engineering) outside the city limits and a visit to beach later
Work: Go for lunch at any of the many restaurants on ECR (which not many apart from teams from S/W companies will go to) and then, watch a movie at Maayajal

School, College or Work – which was/is fun?
