I liked your post. I was also about to skip the post thinking it might be related to carnatic, but I liked the article very much. Though boys never put kolam, when I was young I enjoyed putting kolams. My mother used to laugh saying that the girls in the neighourhood would be watching and laughing. But I didn't bother.
