Good Evening!
Good evening everybody! The day began sans any Monday blues. But as the day progressed, I was down with severe head-ache. It got so worsened that by evening I was in such a grumpy mood. Not even the surprise drizzle cheered me up. Head-ache still continues.
And yeah grumpiness continues too.
I am so happy that Federer finally won the French Open! Yay!
I know this ‘Yay’ is coming very late. But there was some problem with internet at home yesterday.
I watched the historic moment yesterday. Did you watch it?
I watched Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na yesterday and I didn’t like it. To me, the best story ever told about best friends becoming lovers has surely got to be Erich Segal’s ‘Doctors’. It takes the best friends in ‘Doctors’ almost 40 years to realize and accept that they are in love with each other. But when it finally happens, how happy the readers too feel along with the couple!
I had my first guitar class on Saturday and I got a black acoustic guitar. Though I just learnt to play the open strings, still it felt great to hold a guitar in my hand and play it
There are those friends with whom you once spent hours talking over phone/chatting/SMSing. But then comes a point of time when the friend becomes so busy with other things that there’s no time for everyday calls or chats. And after that comes a time when you finally call after a long time and you realize that you have nothing at all to talk.
But as there are two sides to any coin, there are those friends whom if you meet even after a long time, you can talk just like old times.
Let me end my rambling right here. Even blogging doesn’t seem to be giving me the diversion from my head-ache. Bye folks!
P.S.: I couldn’t think of any proper title either ![]()

Hi Aparna,
Seems the monday blues caught you up too much. Can understand and relate as sometimes happens to me too.

For this will fade too ! The way things go these days.. I sometimes wonder if we even stop to say something to ourselves …
I just hope that none of us become so busy that whole life swishes by in one great uneven brush stroke!

I saw Federer win and I almost wept with him! Isn’t he just the greatest sportsman?? If you are as crazy a fan as I am, you can register at rogerfederer.com.
Doctors is simply superb. Erich Segal is a genius. I read almost all of his books. I remember getting glued to them and forgetting about everything else.

Reminds me that I have to continue my guitar classes! Bah, I miss it

I didn’t like JTYJN either.

Aparna on 10 Jun 2009 at 9:31 pm #
Laksh,
How I wish it weren’t so!
Yes
Srilatha,
Oh there seems to be a whole lot of grumpy cartoons!
DT,
That friends part seems to happen quite often as time passes by
Sangeetha,
I too hope that doesn’t happen! But yeah everything just seems to fade away and becomes a blur
Madhav,
That was a great moment to watch!
I love almost all the books of Erich Segal. It is a pity that he has just written a very few books
s w a t,
Do continue
You play guitar?
Glad to know that. I heard quite a few people say that they liked JTYJN.
Sowmya,
Dragging, over-hyped and boring too! That 3 conditions for becoming a true rathore was so stupid!

Ah - learning guitar. Takes me back to my college days. So do you have like “one song” in mind that you would like to play on the guitar that is the key catalyst for this? It was so for a a few of us. Of course the trouble is after a while, we could play (not so well) exactly one song that we drove our friends nuts
! Remember sore fingertips, so sore that you couldnt even press a string comfortably - but that didnt stop me. The song for me was “Sandman” by the group America. And yes, that should tell you how long this was
- and it was not even a “latest” song at that time!

Mondays are weird…they do seem like the elusive marathon that no one is really trained for…I take mine like a test match…first get to lunch, then tea…and hopefully you have scored some runs if you have lasted till the end!

Madhusudhanan,
Comments having bad news about Chennai will not be encouraged here
Arun,
Guitar Prasanna is the inspiration for me & Carnatic is what I ultimately want to play on guitar
I have no idea about ‘Sandman’. Will check it out sometime
Vijay Ganesh,
Thank you
Liberal,
Mondays and marathon? That’s a new comparison
Welcome to my blog!

Carnatic on guitar. I hope you succeed where I am struggling
Although, I must admit that I am not trying seriously enough - it seems easier to sing it
. Yes - Prasanna is awesome, although I hear that his precursor Sukumar Prasad was even better when it came to pure carnatic on guitar (this seems unanimous amongst my friends and acquaintances).
Prasanna can do pure carnatic guitar quite excellently, but he is brilliant in other styles too and I guess sometimes he mixes them in as he feels fit. I think his strengths lie in cross-influences.

Arun,
I am just a beginner who is struggling to play even the simple notes! Hope you do give it a serious try.
I hope I do too
I haven’t listened to Sukumar Prasad’s recordings at all
>this seems unanimous amongst my friends and acquaintances
are those acquaintances/friends the ones on rasikas.org who did Prasanna-bashing recently?
Arunk on 23 Jun 2009 at 6:25 am #
lol! no no no - this was even from other acquaintances.
