That’s what this year has been all about till now.

After several unsuccessful attempts at trying to be regular in going for a walk or doing exercise in the mornings, the reasons for those attempts turning out to be unsuccessful being my laziness that stopped me from waking up early, I finally reached a point where I myself got tired of being lazy and on one fine day, on the spur of a moment, I decided to join yoga class the very next day itself!

The class was from 5:45 am to 6:30 am on all weekdays. From a lazy girl who struggled to wake up even at 6:00 am and had to rush to office everyday without having even one free minute, I changed to a brisk girl who wakes up at 5:15, goes to yoga class and ends up bending and stretching her body into what she thought was postures she could never get herself into. Within 2-3 weeks after I joined, the class timings got changed to 5:30 am and, nowadays, the class goes on till almost 6:30. I go in almost a semi-sleepy state to class everyday but at the end of an hour of yoga, I feel so fresh and energetic. :) And I am liking it so much that I am sure that this class, which has become a part  of my routine for the past 4 and a half months, will continue to remain so for a long time to come.

The next thing that happened this year is I have finally started driving the car! In case you are wondering about what the big deal in that is, let me tell you what does make it a big deal. The first thing that my mom did when I turned eighteen was to enroll me in a driving class. I did learn to drive the car, but by the time my dad finally allowed me to drive our car a year or so later, I had lost the confidence. :|Though I joined a class again(!) after a few years, I never got my confidence back. :| Change the gear with one hand, hold the steering with another, press the brake/accelerator with one leg, clutch with another - I was finding doing so many things simultaneously so difficult. :| :P

Having always loved going for long drives in car with my dad driving, the thought of how great it would be if I too start driving was always there at the back of my mind. I had almost decided to forget that thought after a sloppy attempt at driving the car on Beach Road this January. It took me a few weeks to even think of trying my hand at driving again, when my mom asked me to drive and asked a friend to accompany me. She turned out to be such a great teacher that I have finally got back the confidence! :) Last weekend, for the first time ever, I drove the car alone. :) Yay! :) I can’t wait to drive to office with ARR’s music for company! :) I am sure that will happen soon. And, if all goes well, I might buy a car too within a few months.

After yoga and car, the next best thing that happened this year is my dream of playing the guitar getting fulfilled. :) Of course, I have just started learning and the series of disconnected musical notes produced by my playing is only now, gradually starting to sound like a continuous stream of music. But I am really happy that I didn’t let this dream remain just another yet-to-be-fulfilled-dream. :)

On the whole, the first half of 2009 has been generally good to me. :) How has it been for you? Let’s see how the latter half turns out to be!

P.S.: It felt great to write a post after a looong time! I missed blogging! :(
