The month of music!

Ok I didn’t write the customary ‘Season is here’ post this year and I know I have been doing grave injustice to the blissful music in which I have been drowning in all through this best month of the year for any Carnatic music lover, by not writing about it here. So at least before this month (and the year itself!) ends, I thought I will do short write-ups on all the December Season concerts of Sanjay (and others too, if possible) so far. Posts coming up right away!

Blog

Of course, of late, the blog is not updated as frequently as it once used to be. And to think that it is only in the last few months that I have been having free time in excess and I didn’t utilize it even one bit to update my blog! I seem to have given up all attempts at resurrecting the blog. Let me at least do a quick roundup of all that I missed blogging about.

It is only my blog that I have neglected. I have never been as regular in reading others’ blogs as I have been during these months. I hardly have any unread items left on my Google reader.

The Joy of Driving

Despite having gained a bit of confidence in driving a car last year itself, after I got my own car in January this year, it took me a good 5 months to start driving with full confidence! Even after that it has been only a step by step improvement. Starting with driving during daytime in non-peak hours and avoiding all flyovers and subways and the thought of the car getting stopped while releasing the clutch making an appearance every time I stopped in a signal, today I have reached a stage where I can drive at any time of the day anywhere with the music system in car playing loud music, which too I initially avoided. But I am still not comfortable with taking parking the car in reverse. 🙁 It looks like it’s going to take some more time and I am not worried about that.

September 24th

Waking up to the smell of fresh paint, I remember today’s date – September 24th – It was on this day 15 years before that we moved to his house. With white washing work going on at home now, the entire house is in chaos with things being moved from one room to another and rearranged back again. It brings back memories of the day when we shifted here, of the childhood days, of leaving behind a whole lot of friends in the previous place and a lot more!
