Hello!

It’s been ages since I wrote anything. The only thing that I write these days is, guess what, recipes! Had somebody told me a year back that I would soon be doing a lot of cooking and that too trying out new dishes with a lot of interest, I wouldn’t have believed that something like that would happen.

These days I rarely read any blogs. I am so out of touch with everything that it was only a couple of days back that I came to know from my sister that Google Reader is going to be shut down! Oh no!

Anyway coming back to what I was about to say, today was one of those rare days when I didn’t have a sink-full of dishes to clean or a bucket-full of clothes to wash during my baby’s afternoon nap and I was also in a mood to relax. I watched a couple of interviews of Mani Ratnam about Kadal. I then read a few blogs including Lakshmi’s, from where I stumbled upon Yashodhara’s blog and enjoyed reading a new blog after a long, long time. I then started watching the movie ‘English Vinglish’, which my sister had recommended. My baby woke up halfway through the movie and she, surprisingly, did let me watch it fully. I liked the movie and found myself agreeing with the thoughts shared by the lead character on marriage and family.

At the end of what felt like a day from my erstwhile carefree-life, I felt like writing something here too.

Blissful moments of Rahman’s music!

I recently had to take up some certification. Which meant there was quite a bit of studying to do and that meant what else but having Rahman’s songs for company! The best part about studying for exams for the last several years has been experiencing not just the beauty, but also the motivating power of Rahman’s music! As I listened to song after song uninterrupted, as always, I was transported to that blissful, magical state which only Rahman’s music does and which you can only experience & not describe ever!

September 24th

Waking up to the smell of fresh paint, I remember today’s date - September 24th – It was on this day 15 years before that we moved to his house. With white washing work going on at home now, the entire house is in chaos with things being moved from one room to another and rearranged back again. It brings back memories of the day when we shifted here, of the childhood days, of leaving behind a whole lot of friends in the previous place and a lot more!

Raavanan

I liked Raavanan. Found it much better than Raavan. The first half too somehow seemed to move faster than Raavan. Was it because of the actors, or because I have already watched Raavan or because of the language? Am not sure about that. The climax - not the fight on the bridge, but the scene where Ragini gets back to Veeraiyya - was much better in Tamil than in Hindi. Prithviraj was too good in the role of Dev. Got mesmerized by the visuals, the lighting and the colours of the forest once again. Relished the awesome background score and songs of Rahman once again. I am happy that I watched both Raavan and Raavanan at Sathyam cinemas.

Raavan

I don’t have a clear answer either for the ‘How was Raavan?’ question or for ‘Did you like Raavan?’ Of course, the answer for the second question is definitely not a ‘No’. But it isn’t a whole-hearted ‘Yes’ either. And that’s why I didn’t even attempt to write on the movie all this while.

Spoiler Alert (But I guess this won’t matter since most of you might have watched the movie by now.)

2 hrs to go!

While the wait for watching ‘Raavan’ is just 2 hours for me, for my sister, it is going to be two long weeks! With all her thoughts only on ‘Raavan’, here is how she thinks Raavan would be:
