8 Things about me

Sivaraman had tagged me long back. The tag is I have to list out 8 things about me.

1. I am a semi-introvert.
2. I have this weird habit of checking, re-checking, re-re-checking whether I have taken all the necessary things when I leave for an exam or some other important work!
3. Whenever I get bored/confused/sad, I write down my feelings on a paper. I have found that putting the thoughts into words has a positive effect on me.
4. I believe in the saying, ‘Life is too sweet to be spent worrying’ and try my best to enjoy all the little things in life.
5. I love ice creams 😀
6. I hate crowds! I prefer a peaceful life 😛
7. I am punctual in everything I do. I have always been the first one to arrive be it meeting a group of friends or meeting some other deadline 😉
8. Finally, I have this policy of not tagging anyone 😉

Blogs I Read

This is actually supposed to be a reply to Ponnarasi’s comment here. I thought I would let everyone know the answer anyway 😛

My blogrolling someone is no way related to whether or not that blogger visits my blog. 🙂 Most of the blogs in my ‘Blogs I Read’ page including Ponnarasi’s are the ones I have been reading even before I started blogging. Most of them will not be aware that I read their blog simply because I rarely comment in blogs! Now, don’t ask me why! 🙂 That’s why I chose to list out the blogs I read when I started blogging. Many bloggers whom I have blogrolled haven’t visited my blog. Even if they have, I am not aware of it 😉

By the way, the list of blogs I read mentioned here is incomplete. There are some that I read on and off. I haven’t mentioned those. Besides, with each day, the number of blogs I read is increasing. Listing out all the blogs is becoming difficult….

How ‘brave’ can people get!

I had gone on a one-day trip to Tirunelveli yesterday with my family. After we got down at the Tirunelveli station, we saw that none of them used the staircase at the station. Since we were new to the place, we decided to follow the crowd to reach entrance/exit of the station. Everybody were crossing the railway tracks to reach the other side of the platform. The point to be noted here is they were crossing the very same railway tracks in which the train we had travelled by was waiting to get started soon and they were crossing right in front of the train.
As we were about to cross the track, the train driver honked the horn of the train! That’s when everyone started rushing to cross the tracks!! A local boy standing behind me said, ‘Akka cross paNNidlaam. Cross paNNunga!’ This, after the horns screamed! I was shocked to see some people crossing the tracks even after the train started moving! They were hardly 25 feet in front of the train! Is waiting for a max of 5 more minutes going to cost them anything? I watched the crowd crossing the tracks amazed and crossed only after the train left the station.

Jeeva – Harris Jeyaraj combo

There are quite a few songs of Harris Jeyaraj that feature in my all-time favourite songs list. I started off writing a post on that but, as I started writing, I realized that most of them were the ones that HJ had composed for Jeeva. So, here’s a post on my 5 favourite songs produced by HJ-Jeeva combo. It’s sad that this combination is never going to happen again. 🙁

Aayitha Ezhuthu VCD

I got the VCD of Aayitha Ezhuthu (seems DVD has still not been released) released by Moser Baer today. Neither the picture quality nor the sound quality is that good. 🙁 So, don’t buy it unless you very badly want to watch the movie.

Sivaji

I came back after watching Sivaji just now. 😀 For the first time in my life, I missed the first few minutes of a movie in theatre. 🙁 I have always been at the theater at least 20 minutes before the movie starts!

Random musings after watching the movie:

  • I am never going to like a Shankar’s movie completely (I could see it as a Shankar’s movie only more than Rajni’s in the first half), especially, the scenes where the hero woos the heroine or other scenes featuring the lead pair of the movie. (and in this movie, their family too!)
  • Rajni is the SUPERSTAR irrespective of whether he is Sivaji or MGR. 😉 He rulezzzzzzzz but only in the second half of the movie especially when he is the Mottai Boss 😀
  • The way Rajni reacts when he gets caught on the railway track is classic Rajni stuff.
  • Songs are picturized quite well. Athiradee as everyone said, was too good! I didn’t like Balleilakka that much.
  • I didn’t like that Suman that much. Raghuvaran will always be the perfect villain for Rajni! Imagine Raghuvaran delivering those dialogues of Suman! Would have been great!
  • Finally, the movie was exactly as I expected it to be, that is, not so great and not so bad either. 😉 And, Batsha, Padaiyappa and Annamalai will remain my favourite Rajni movies!
