Nagmein Hain Shikwe Hain
Kisse Hain Baatein Hain
Baatein Bhool Jaati hain
Yaadein Yaad Aati Hain
Yeh Yaadein Kisi Dil-O-Jaanam Ke
Chale Jaane Ke Baad Aati Hain
Yaadein, Meethi Meethi Yaadein
Khatti Meethi Yaadein

Listening to or even thinking these about these lines from the song Yaadein from the movie of the same name, always makes me realize again and again how true these lines are. It’s just the memories alone that remain with you forever after a person dies. Whether you like it or not, it won’t leave you and go. It’s as though you get to live with the person all over again through the ever-alive memories. Each and every time you recollect the memories, the harsh reality that there is not going to be another one like this added to your mind hits you hard. At the same time, if it’s a pleasant memory, it will manage to bring a smile to your face over-powering your sorrow. That’s when the realization strikes you that it’s important to leave behind pleasant memories so that you manage to bring a smile on the face of someone you lived with, even though you may not be around to add onto the collection of memories of the other person. And of course, it’s not as though you are going to the revisit the memories only when the person is not around anymore. But all said and done, is it easy to always not express your anger or act/react in a manner that doesn’t hurt anyone? But if you really put an effort to change yourself, you know you, if not make someone’s day, won’t break someone’s. :) But, the effort to be put in is going to be enormous. But can’t a start be anyway made?
