Awaiting the Spring Season!
andhi vaanam araikkum manjaL
koNRai poovil kuLittha manjaL
It’s that time of the year again when the above lines from pacchai nirame are the ones that I get reminded of every time I step out on the roads. The spring season is slowly beginning in Chennai. I saw the first of the copper pods bloom on some trees in L.B.road some three weeks back and a couple of weekends back saw the first of the yellow carpet of copper pods on Boat Club Road. It’s just a matter of a week or so before my city gets decorated by the yellow of the copper pods.
Feb-May are also the months when around 6 pm is the time when you get to see one of the most beautiful sunsets at Adyar Bridge. The sky in different hues of pink, orange and blue with or without clouds, the sun again in varying shades of dark golden-orange and yellow, the rays of the sun stretching out to the horizon from the sun on some days, the reflection of the sun & the colours of the sky on the waters of Adyar River, the clouds hiding the sun on some days, it’s a beautiful visual treat presented by nature waiting for our eyes to relish! All I can do while travelling by bus is to take some weird-angle photos like these with my mobile, which will no way do justice to the sunset:
(I took these photos during Feb-May last year)
P.S.: When I told my sister that I was going to write this post, she wanted to know if this wasn’t becoming an annual post.
Seems like it was my answer to her

Anthi vaanam araikkum manjal
Akkini Kozhunthil pootha Manjal
Thangathodu Janitha Manjal
Kondrai poovil Kuzhantha manjal
Malai Nilavil Maragadha Manjal …
And believe me or not, every time i see the sunset in Golden Gate - i am reminded of this lines ! The music, lyrics and hariharan’s voice lives !

Sriram,
Hope you get to leave in time to see the sunset sometime
Madhusudhanan,

Why does it make you feel so?
> sunset & sun rise makes us think life’s so damn simple dont they !!!
Oh really?
Sathej,
Sreekrishnan,
Of course, I haven’t. It’s just that what is said in these two lines are the ones that I see everyday
Isn’t it amazing how there are specific Rahman’s songs to remember during most of the moments in life?

hmm maybe coz its got to do wid the mystic colors of the sun…the layers which form… though the colors seem complicated the thing is just beautiful
it makes u forget things & makes u feel God-like
