The number of people with whom you are chatting with doesn’t matter. What matters is whether the conversation goes beyond the same old questions like How are you?, Howz life?, What’s up?, What’s new? or not!

National Flag & National Anthem – What they mean to me

Writing the previous post made me sit back and think about what made me develop such strong feelings for the national flag, national anthem, etc. I can never tolerate seeing people sitting and listening to National Anthem. Mind you, I am not saying that those people are not patriotic or anything like that. It’s just that I can never sit when I listen to National Anthem. That’s all.

Papers

Books & Papers – These are two things that I always handle with utmost care. I hate seeing books/notebooks having wrinkled pages. There is nothing more annoying than seeing somebody crumple the pages while turning the pages of a book, that too a new book. Ask my friends who used to borrow my record or graph sheets in college and they will tell you how I used to ask them to take care not to kasakkify my record or graph sheets.

What’s your name?

Well that is supposed to be the question that all of us ask when we meet someone for the first time. But imagine knowing a person for more than a year and talking with her regularly and still not knowing her name at all! She comes in my bus and her stop is same as mine. I had been chatting with her while waiting for the bus all these days, till it recently struck me one day that I didn’t know her name at all! When I asked the others in the stop, they too didn’t know! They forgot it seems. After knowing a person for such a long time, the very thought of asking what her name is, was too embarrassing. I finally managed to see her ID card today and got to know her name!

What say?

I was chatting with my friend and she said that she read my post on sarees. She was surprised that many guys had read that post and commented and then this is what she had to say:

“they still had the patience to read the post abt designer sarees
seems they are not as bored of sarees as we think”

I now want to know what you guys have to say about her last statement. 😛 And while I am at it, let me thank you all for patiently reading my post on sarees. 😉

Wedding Receptions

After sarees, here’s more on wedding receptions. Wanted to write some post but right now, I am not able to think of anything else to write.

If there is one place where queues are followed properly by everybody, it has to be only the wedding receptions! Go home from work. Get ready in a hurry. Reach the kalyana mandapam fighting the traffic jam everywhere. Stand in a queue for a minimum of 10-15 minutes. Wish the couple, give the gift, pose for a photo and go straight to dinner hall.

Designer Sarees – The Changing Trend in Chennai

The months of April-June seem to be the months of weddings what with one friend after another getting married! I don’t think I have ever gone for as many weddings as I have during the past couple of months! The one thing that is surely changing or rather has changed in Chennai is the popularity of silk sarees especially among youngsters.

Guys, you are most welcome to skip this post unless you want to read it for educational purposes like this person here. 😛

When luck strikes thrice! :)

My sister and I had gone to Odyssey to get ‘Ada’ CD and I was just paying the money for it when guess who entered the shop!! Madhavan!!! :O We were not able to believe it!! We went and said ‘Hi Madhavan!’ and he said Hi. I then said we liked his movie, ‘Evano Oruvan’ very much and he said a Thank you and said he was just back from a shoot. He had come there with his son. I then asked if I can take a photo of his and he said he was just back from a shoot and he was all black. He anyway obliged and I took one with my mobile. We then thanked him and left. We anyway, didn’t want to disturb him.

But the photo has not come out well. 🙁 Considering the excitement in which I was, I would have been surprised had it come out properly. 😉 Anyway, here’s the photo:

This is the third time I am seeing Madhavan! 🙂 The first time was at Essen Musicals at Alwarpet where he had come along with Simran and Keerthana for the launch or rather promoting the CD/Cassettes of Kannatthil Muthamittal. The second time was at the DVD launch of Mani Ratnam’s movies by Mani himself where Madhavan spoke about his experience of working with Mani Ratnam. So luck struck for the third time today. 🙂
